Privacy policy
What this policy covers
We are Today’s Dental, the dental office of Dr. Ayaba Guiste, DDS, at 604 N Willis Ave, Livingston, TX 77351. This policy explains what information our website, todaysdentaltx.com, collects, how we use it and the choices you have. It covers the website only.
How we use and protect your health information as a patient is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices. You can also ask for a paper copy at our front desk or by calling (936) 327-2151.
Appointment requests
Our appointment request form asks for:
- your name and phone number;
- your email address, if you choose to give it;
- whether you are new to our office or have been here before; and
- the days and times of day that suit you.
We use this information to contact you and schedule your visit. Sending a request does not book an appointment; a member of our team will call you to confirm a time.
The form has no place for health details, and we ask you not to add any. Please share them with us by phone or at your visit. Nothing you type into the form is sent to Google Analytics or to any other analytics service.
Calls and texts
Our phone number and text links open the calling or messaging app on your own phone. Those calls and texts reach our office through your phone service, not through our website. Please do not text us health details, such as symptoms or medicines; tell us about them by phone or at your visit.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use our website, so we know what information patients look for. Google Analytics runs only on todaysdentaltx.com, and only when you have not turned it off. When it runs, it sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and beginning with _ga_, which last up to two years) and receives information such as:
- the address of each page you view, with anything added to the end of the address removed, except campaign tags that show which link or listing brought you to us;
- the website that sent you to us (its address, not the page);
- how long you spend on our pages;
- your type of device and browser, and your approximate location, which Google estimates from your IP address; and
- that you tapped our phone number or our text, directions, reviews or appointment links, with only a general note of where the link sits, such as the header or the footer.
Google Analytics sees which of our pages you read, including pages about particular treatments. It never receives your name, your phone number, anything you type into a form, or any information from your patient records.
We have turned off Google’s advertising features. Google signals and ad personalization are off, advertising cookies are not allowed, and our Google Analytics account is not linked to any advertising account. Google’s automatic recording of form use and of clicks to other websites is off, and so are the account settings that share our analytics data with Google for purposes other than technical support. We set Google Analytics to delete detailed visit data after 14 months; summary reports of totals, which Google keeps separately, are not affected by that setting.
Google explains how it handles this information in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Your choices
- Use Your privacy choices at the bottom of any page to turn Google Analytics off. Turning it off deletes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser and reloads the page.
- We save your choice in that browser only, under the name
td-analytics, in the browser’s storage and in a cookie of the same name that lasts one year. Make the choice again on another device or browser, or after you clear your browsing data. If your browser blocks both, we cannot save your choice; turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser keeps Google Analytics off. - If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, Google Analytics does not load, and we treat the signal as your choice to opt out.
- We do not respond to the older Do Not Track signal.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings.
Our web host and visit counts
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives your IP address and basic information about your browser when it delivers a page, and uses it to deliver pages securely and to protect the website from attacks.
We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits and measures how quickly our pages load. It does not use cookies or any other storage in your browser, and it does not try to recognize individual visitors, so it runs for every visitor, including those who turn Google Analytics off.
Other websites
We do not embed maps, videos, review widgets or social media feeds, so no map, video, review or social media service loads on our pages or receives anything from your visit through them. Our fonts and photos come from our own website.
Our links to other websites, such as Google Maps, our Google reviews, Facebook, Instagram and getrestfulsleep.com (the website of Restful Sleep Apnea & Snoring Solutions, located inside our office), take you to websites this policy does not cover. Once you follow one of those links, that website’s own privacy practices apply.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising. Our website has no advertising pixels, remarketing tags, session recording, call-tracking numbers or chat tools.
Children
Our website is meant for adults. Parents and guardians request appointments for their children, and we do not knowingly collect information online from children under 13.
Security
Our website is delivered over an encrypted connection. No website or internet connection can be guaranteed completely secure, which is one more reason we ask you to keep health details for a phone call or your visit.
Texas residents
We are a dental office in Livingston, Texas, and a health care provider covered by HIPAA. As our patient, your health information is protected by federal and Texas law, and our Notice of Privacy Practices explains how we use and protect it. On our website, Texas residents and every other visitor have the same choices: you can turn Google Analytics off, we honor Global Privacy Control, and we do not sell personal information.
Changes to this policy
This version of the policy takes effect on [date to be set when approved]. If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with the date it takes effect. When we change how our website measures visits, or which services receive information from it, we update this policy at the same time.
