Dr. Ayaba Guiste

Dr. Ayaba Guiste, DDS, is the dentist you will see in our Livingston office, and many of our patients call her Dr. G. She grew up in Togo, speaks English, French and Ewe, and earned her dental degree at Meharry Medical College.

What drew Dr. Guiste to dentistry

Few people would call the dental office a favorite place to visit. Dr. Guiste had a different experience there as a teenager, one that left a good impression on her and set her on the way to dentistry.

She grew up around family members who worked in health care, and she also loved art. Over time it became clear to her that dentistry brought art and science together better than any other field. It also meant working directly with people every day, which suited her far better than sitting behind a computer all day. Years later, she is still sure it was the right choice.

Born and raised in Togo

Dr. Guiste was born and raised in Togo, in West Africa, and moved to the United States to continue her education. She speaks English, French and Ewe, a language spoken in Togo.

Where Dr. Guiste trained

She earned her undergraduate degree in biology in Morrow, Georgia. From there she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she received her doctor of dental surgery degree from Meharry Medical College. To refine and broaden her skills, she went on to advanced general dental practice training in Hackensack, New Jersey.

Making a home in Livingston

After her training, Dr. Guiste began practicing in Texas, and it was here that she met her husband. Together they chose Livingston as the place to settle and raise their two daughters.

Dr. Guiste is glad to care for the people of Livingston, the community she and her family call home.
